It is with shock and disbelief that I send my sincere condolances to Leonid's family, friends and colleagues. His passing is a tremendous loss to the scientific and medical community. I know that his exemplary work and positive energy will live on through his many students and others on whom he had a wonderful impact. I am so sorry and will miss him.
